Software Engineer III, Backend - Consumer Payment & Services Domain

Overview

As a Backend Software Engineer in the Consumer Features domain, you design, build, and operate mission-critical services that power daily app interactions. You will own features like BNPL, Gift Cards, mobile top-ups, and transfers, contributing to increased engagement and transaction volume. You’ll work with Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL on an AWS-based microservices stack, while leveraging AI tools to boost engineering efficiency. You’ll collaborate across Product and UX/UI teams and focus on reliability and scalable solutions that delight millions of users. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape the money experience at scale.

Responsabilità Own end-to-end lifecycle of consumer features from design to production

Develop and maintain core user functionalities (BNPL, Gift Cards, mobile top-ups, Personal IBAN/SCT transfers)

Improve backend logic for budget mechanisms and scheduled top-ups

Own AWS-based infrastructure and drive architectural improvements across microservices

Leverage AI tools to write code, accelerate root cause analysis, and generate documentation

Tackle complex, ambiguous problems with scalable, maintainable solutions

Collaborate with Product and UX/UI teams; contribute to code reviews and refactoring

Debug production issues and continuously improve system reliability

Requisiti fondamentali 3+ years as Backend Engineer in fast-paced environments with scalable microservices

Strong Java & Spring Boot expertise

Exposure to cloud (AWS a plus) and relational databases

Focus on performance, reliability, and clean business logic

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and clear communication

Fluency in English; passion for FinTech or startup environments
