Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

As Senior Backend Engineer in Moneyfarm's Partners Engineering team, you own complex backend services for the B2B platform, delivering end-to-end from design to deployment. You build API integrations with partner banks and third-party providers, handling order execution and data exchange. You may lead specific technical streams and contribute to architecture, emphasizing scalability, fault tolerance, security, and data quality. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust, high-quality solutions, leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery and impact.

Responsabilità Design, build, and maintain backend services for the Partners B2B platform from design to deployment

Implement API integrations with partner banks and third-party providers, covering order execution, suitability verification, document management, and data exchange

Lead specific technical streams (e.g., product gateways, digital signature flow, performance data pipeline, billing) with minimal oversight

Contribute to architectural decisions and design discussions, including non-functional requirements (scalability, fault tolerance, security, data quality)

Collaborate with Product, Business, and partner-facing teams to understand requirements and propose technical solutions balancing quality and delivery speed

Write clean, testable, and well-documented code; perform thorough code reviews to maintain high standards

Anticipate bottlenecks and address them proactively

Provide reliable estimates, using problem-solving and assumption-based reasoning in ambiguity

Mentor junior engineers through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing

Contribute to cross-team improvements: patterns, shared libraries, testing strategies, and documentation

Requisiti fondamentali 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a backend focus

Proficiency in Java or Go

Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools to accelerate development and a proactive AI-driven problem solving approach

Experience building and operating microservices in production, including API design, database modeling, and messaging patterns

Strong knowledge of software architecture and non-functional requirements

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) including compute, databases, queues, CI/CD

Effective debugging and observability skills (logs, traces, metrics)

Ability to work autonomously on complex projects and communicate progress clearly

Product mindset and ability to map technical work to business outcomes

Good cross-functional communication with Product, Design, Business, and external partners
