Overview

As a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer, you will help develop silicon photonics IC-based products from design to fabrication and testing. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative photonic devices and large-scale circuits, shaping photonics-enabled connectivity. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration to meet system-level requirements and drive design validation. Responsabilità Own Tx and/or Rx PIC designs and communicate performance requirements to cross-functional teams

Evaluate optical link budgets, RFEO performance, and power consumption to verify against requirements

Define test requirements and collaborate with test teams to develop comprehensive test plans

Generate PIC performance documents to track performance across R&D and production variants

Evaluate new design approaches and drive device-level and system-level optimization

Interface with mixed-signal IC, substrate, packaging, and simulation teams to ensure co-design/co-optimization of photonics chips

Requisiti fondamentali MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or Applied Physics

Hands-on experience in silicon photonic device design, characterization, and modeling

Proficient with optical and RF simulation tools (Lumerical, HFSS, ADS) and photonic circuit design

Proficient in Python or C/C++ with solid understanding of optics and electromagnetics

2+ years of experience in silicon photonics design, testing, and characterization
