Job Description

We are LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, one of three business units within ams OSRAM, advancing the digitalization of light. At LSP, we go beyond traditional sensing—combining light, silicon, and system expertise to enable digital photonics solutions. Our focus is clear: powering next-generation applications in data centers, AR/VR, mobile and automotive, where light becomes a critical interface for data, perception, and interaction. This evolution marks a shift from components to integrated photonics systems —driving performance, scalability, and innovation in high-growth segments.

Support the design team during the development phase by ensuring adequate product testability in the laboratoryDevelop validation concepts and methodologies starting from product specifications and design requirements and drive their execution through laboratory characterization and measurement activitiesInvestigate and analyze unexpected test results in collaboration with the design teamDesign and layout PCBs for the electrical evaluation of ICsDefine test methodologies and laboratory setups using appropriate instrumentationDevelop software for automated validation and measurement workflowsDemonstrate familiarity with soldering, desoldering, and electronic rework equipmentPrepare technical documentation and reports related to measurement resultsWork closely with technical leaders, design engineers, and test development engineers throughout the entire product development cycle

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in Electronics Engineering is preferredPrevious experience as a Validation Engineer in the semiconductor industry (typically 5+ years)Strong knowledge of measurement techniques and laboratory instrumentationProficiency in validation software tools such as Python and NI LabVIEWExperience programming and integrating NI PXI/PXIe instrumentation for automated validation and test applications is highly desirableExperience in embedded firmware development and microcontroller programming is not required but would be considered a plusKnowledge of PCB design and layout tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, and OrCADExperience in the validation of automotive semiconductor products is considered a plus but is not mandatoryStatistical data analysis skillsStrong documentation and technical reporting skillsExcellent team-working and collaboration skillsProactive and self-driven attitudeSystematic and organized approach to task executionGood command of written and spoken English
