Position Overview

As the Design Director, you will be responsible for leading and elevating the creative output of our multidisciplinary team, propelling our brand to new heights. We're seeking a visionary, strategic thinker, and hands-on leader who can inspire and motivate the team, shape design strategy, and maintain quality while aligning with company objectives. You will be instrumental in defining and refining our brand's visual identity, ensuring coherence across all marketing channels.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing Studio, you'll guide work across events, web, motion and print while embracing hands-on involvement as needed. You will also serve as a mentor to a diverse team of creatives including designers, writers, and animators, fostering their growth and facilitating collaboration. Your role will be pivotal in driving our business goals as you create compelling content that resonates with our audience and strengthens our brand's connection with customers.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership: Provide visionary guidance to the team, setting creative direction, inspiring creatives to push beyond the expected, and giving clear feedback to uplevel the quality and effectiveness of their work

Brand Development: Shape and maintain the brand's visual identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and channels, including developing and implementing comprehensive design systems and visual treatments to streamline workflows and maintain brand coherence.

Creative Strategy: Develop and articulate a compelling creative vision to effectively express the brand through events, enhancing brand identity and captivating target audiences.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with diverse teams to transform marketing objectives into impactful design strategies while supervising projects conducted by agencies and production partners to ensure alignment with objectives, brand guidelines, and industry standards.

Quality Control: Ensure high standards of design and storytelling across all creative assets while fostering a culture of excellence that emphasizes craft and attention to detail.

Trend Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations. Incorporate innovative approaches into our creative strategy.

Qualifications

10 years of proven experience as a Design Director, Creative Director or similar leadership role, managing diverse teams in a remote environment across time zones.

Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field.

Strong portfolio demonstrating a high level of personal craft and exceptional design work across various mediums.

Extensive experience in defining, building, and distinguishing brands through design with focused experience in Brand Identities, Communication Design, and Marketing.

Experience bringing brands to life through events and experiential marketing

Deep understanding of design principles, marketing strategies, and brand development.

Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft beautiful and informative creative presentations that win hearts and minds

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to develop deep partnerships across the business and contribute to strategic planning efforts.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129, 210.00 - $281, 305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
